Alejandra Lopez-Zaballa

Alejandra (Madrid, 1974) is a professional Spanish and Mexican photographer, specialized in the photographic genres of street, travel, visual storytelling and people/portrait. She begins her projects with a concept, a strategy that leads her to travel to those places where she can go much deeper into the topics she wants to communicate and express through her passion.

He studied photography at the London School of Photography and the ICP from NYC. She feels fortunate to have had great mentors like Mary Ellen Mark.

After 14 years dedicated to her professional career in Human Resources for American and British companies, in October 2011, Alejandra created her photography company in Thailand. Two years later he moved to Mexico City, as a freelancer.

Having lived in 9 countries and visited more than 80 has contributed to his passion to give voice to people from many cultural and social backgrounds.

He currently resides in Madrid and his work includes the sale and exhibitions of fine art photography, giving workshops, conferences for companies, developing visual projects and corporate and personal photographic sessions.

His work, expounded in Mexico City, New York, London, San Francisco, Madrid, Kuala Lumpur, Tampa, Braga, Sydney, Villahermosa and Bangkok, has received international awards and mentions such as Silver Award for his book “I dry my hair in the wind” for Paris Photo Prize 2024, 2nd Portrait/People Award for the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts 2024, 2nd Visual Story Award 2024 for The Independent Photographer, Best Portrait Finalist 2023 by Dodho Magazine, 2022 WSP Annual Exhibition in NYC, 2021 WSP virtual exhibit, Honorification Mention B&W Spider Awards 2017, Finalist at the SFO Street Photography Festival 2017, Art Takes Manhattan 2016, 3rd prize single image Exposure Awards for LensCulture 2015, participation in PhotoEspaña Visionados 2015.

In 2022 he published his photo book “I dry my hair in the wind” about the girls at a Casa Hogar in Oaxaca. Alejandra is very interested in social projects that help improve the physical and emotional living conditions of people and especially children. Whenever you have a chance merges your photographic work with your social interest. She is the mother of two girls aged 4 and 5.
